Background:
Most sports hall of fame honors are reserved for selected individuals who have achieved unusually high levels of athletic accomplishment. The Nor-Gwyn Hall of Fame is an honor based on unusually high levels of community service. The Nor-Gwyn Board of Directors instituted the Hall of Fame in 1999 to recognize those individuals who have made the highest level of commitment to the youth of our community and to the Nor-Gwyn organization. The five founders of the former Upper Gwynedd-North Wales Baseball Association (the predecessor organization to Nor-Gwyn Baseball and Softball) were included in the original group of seven inductees in 1999.
Award Criteria:
Induction into the Nor-Gwyn Hall of Fame is made for those distinguished individuals who, in the judgment of the Hall of Fame Committee and the Board of Directors, has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the success of the Nor-Gwyn organization and its programs over an extended period of time.
Nomination Process:
Any member of the Nor-Gwyn community at least 16 years of age can nominate a candidate for induction into the Hall of Fame. The nomination is made by submitting a letter by April 15 of the year of nomination and addressing it to:
Nor-Gwyn Baseball & Softball
Hall of Fame Committee
P.O. Box 1476
North Wales, PA 19454
The President appoints a Hall of Fame Committee to evaluate any submissions and, if deemed worthy by the committee, submits to the Board of Directors for approval.
