Nor-Gwyn Quickball FAQ
Additional Questions: [email protected]

What is the age range for Quickball?
Quickball is for children ages 4–6, based on your child’s age as of May 1.

When does registration begin/end for Quickball?
Registration typically begins in mid-December and runs through February 15. An early registration discount is applied if you register before January 16.

I missed the registration deadline. Can I still register?
Possibly; however, a late fee will be added to your registration. Late registrations may be accepted until the end of February. After that, registration may not be possible once teams are set and uniforms are ordered.

My child turns 4 after the May 1 cutoff date. Can I still register my child for Quickball?
If your child’s birthday occurs shortly after the cutoff date, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. Please email the Quickball Commissioner to confirm.

What age would my child be eligible to move up to the next level (Rookie/Pony)?
Rookie/Pony level begins at age 7 (as of May 1). If your child turns 7 after May 1 but is close to the cutoff date and has played 1–2 years of Quickball, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. These will be reviewed by the Quickball and Baseball/Softball Commissioners.

When does the season start, and what days do practices/games occur?
Practices typically start mid- to late March and will be held 1–2 days per week. Practices are scheduled by each coach (typically Monday–Thursday around 6:00 p.m.), so practice days will vary by team depending on the coach.
Games will begin on Nor-Gwyn Opening Day. Each team will typically play twice per week—one weekday game (which will vary throughout the season) and one Saturday game.

I’d like to get involved. How do I sign up to be a coach or assistant coach?
Great! At this level, the more coaches we have, the better. No coaching or baseball experience is necessary. Our program is designed to make practices and games fun and easy to run, with structured practice plans and helpful reference videos provided.
You can sign up when you register your child for Quickball or by emailing the Quickball Commissioner. Required clearances can be completed during coach registration. We also prioritize honoring coach requests for practice days/times and friend requests for placement on the same team.

What does my child need to bring to Quickball?
Nothing, other than clothes that can get dirty. No gloves or cleats are necessary. Your child will receive his or her own Quickball bat and ball to take home, as well as a weekly All-Star Character Education Card related to that week’s lesson. Your child will also receive a jersey and hat when games begin in April.

Can I request for my child to be on the same team as a friend?
Yes! Requests can be made at the time of registration or by emailing the Quickball Commissioner. While we cannot guarantee that all friend requests will be honored, we will do our best to accommodate as many as possible. Priority will be given to requests from coaches (so please consider signing up to coach!).
