We are about to begin the process of building teams for our 2021 Minor League Program. We will be evaluating the baseball skills of our younger Minor League Players, (ages 8 and 9 years). Please plan for your player to attend Minor League Player Evaluations Saturday, March 13, 2021, beginning at 10:30AM outside at the Pennbrook Middle School . Pennbrook Middle School is located at 1201 N Wales Rd, North Wales, PA 19454.
Evaluations will be conducted on the parking lot due to COVID-19 restrictions within the schools. Players are to dress comfortably, wear sneakers, and bring their glove (and a bat and helmet, if so desired). Participation in Player Evaluations is required for all 9 year-old players and those few 8 year-old players requesting to play up in our Minor League Program.
Minors Player Draft Process: During evaluations, each player is evaluated & scored on his/her fielding, throwing, and hitting skills. Our Minor League Managers will perform this evaluation. All 9 year-old players qualify for our Minor League. If it is determined that an 8 year-old player has the basic skills to safely play in our Minor League, he/she will also be added to our Minor League Draft Pool. Eight year-old players must evaluate above the 50th percentile of all 8 & 9 year-old players to be considered.
Players are assigned to the various rounds of the Minor League Draft based on Age and Evaluation Score. This is done to spread experience and talent evenly across all Minor League teams. In support of this process, we are unable to satisfy special requests for a specific team or teammate. The Minor League teams are chosen by blind draft. Minors Managers will not know the identity of the player they are drafting in each round. All they will know is that the player they draft was placed in the specific draft round along with players of similar skill or experience.
